The obsession with running shoes and running shoe technology could be attributed to the fact that I spend a whole whack of time out there on the road. While the old adage "You get what you pay for" may be true in most cases, do we really get more shoe when we get up to the $149-$300 shoe range or is that just to cover marketing and narrow demand structure? Bottom line is...you probably won't see me out there in a pair of $50 Fila's, trying to pass them off as "supportive", when what they really are is "Cardboard-box-ish". You will probalby see me lacing on a pair of well designed, proven trainers like the Asics 2110's, DS-somethings or the Brooks Adrenalines that have just taken a huge leap forward in my respect. Add to this list any number of cool, light and supportive race shoes, flats or even cleats and now you have a better idea what is going thru my head. Don't even get me started on Trail specific shoes...
So what is it that I have fallen in passionate Lust with? The new Brooks Trance 6 with MOGO technology is the neighbour's donkey that I covet. Brooks have packed a whole lot of stability shoe into a sub 10 oz wrapper. They have also put their wang out there by offering the first 90 day trial offer. If you buy a pair of these this month, you can try it for 90 days and if you are not completely satified, return it within 90 days for credit for any shoe in the store. Whoa boys, no hard sell here.

Okay, so I might be a little high on the marketing campaign and the fact that it is Brooks (my third favourite thing!), but I will most likely have a pair by the end of the week. I will let you know how they go. For now I will just bask in the euphoria of Lustful thoughts for these silver lined, plastic and foam Bling-Gem chachkis. What shoes are you wearing?

Through my own personal experience in testing out the comfort of this shoe...I must admit it is not at all comfortable and it feels very heavy and bulky on your foot, almost as if wearing weights. So with my final word test them yourself and you will see for yourself.
You are lusting after some pretty nasty looking shoes, will you wear a polyester leisure suit when you run in them!?!
Anonymous #1 and #2 - who are you guys?
Not to sound like a Brooks apologist, but, I feel I need to address your comments (everyone, afterall is entitled to an opinion).
Anonymous #1: Do you belong to a shoe testing lab that get to wear-test shoes before they hit the market? I hope your observations are truly based on fact because the Trance 6 just came out in mid July. At 10.5 oz, I can't imagine it being that bulky, let alone heavy, even as a 'stability' shoe, it is lighter than most in this category. If you want a light shoe in the 6-7 oz. range - get a 'performance training' or 'racing' shoe instead.
Anonymous #2: Beauty, indeed (as has always been) is in the eye of the beholder.
You're right beauty is in the eye of the beholder and those people laughing are laughing with you not at you...Enjoy your shoes!
How did we slip into a newsgroup? What is this, /Alt/shoes/ugly/growup\? Did anyone see Big Brother last night? That Boogie is a bitch!...no seriously, keep up the great comments!
Anon #2--Do you want to always be wearing a different mix of blue with grey or blue with silver Kayanos??? These shoes look great!
