Okay, so I have taken a week off from my running schedule to allow for a little bit of recuperation. The idea is to rest my legs so that connective tissues can rebuild themselves and glycogen stores can be replenished. The week(s) off for recovery are also supposed to help you regain the motivation to run again. So, my question is this: Why do I feel so crappy when I don't run?
I am ready to go again, I am chomping at the bit to test my legs out and see where they can take me. When I look at a racing schedule of some of the races or events that I could be doing, I feel remorse. Why can't you just keep going? Why can't our bodies maintain the high?
I am going to look for some Recovery and Tapering articles in the next couple of weeks to see what it really means to Recover. I am also interested in Tapering for multiple races and exactly how much is too much? If anyone finds anything worth reading, please post a link in the comments or email me.
In the meantime, I better just grow up.
