Taper Week: final thoughts

It's the final week before the marathon, what are the best things to do in preparation for the marathon? Get lots of sleep, don't do anything strenuous, drink water (or my fave, lots of Gatorade), Eat and be merry. I always find that this is a great week to get caught up on your favourite TV shows or all those movies at the video rental place (yes, they still do rent movies for money and people pay for them). How about watching the whole first season of Weeds again on Veoh? Works for me.

Running a marathon takes two things and only two things: Determination and Motivation. You have been training for 20 weeks or more, missing 1 week or 3 weeks or 5 long runs isn't going to stop you from finishing the race on Sunday if you are determined and motivated to do it. How many people in the world are physically and mentally fit enough to even attempt to run a marathon? The answer to this is: YOU ARE READY and YOU CAN DO IT!
