3rd Annual LVN Memorial Crapper Hill 21.1-ish freeze your Fat-Ass Run

It's that time of year again. Time to roll out the chip timing mats, dust off the time clock, and round up the crowds of volunteers and spectators for the Annual Las Vegas North Memorial Half of a Marathon. This is the race that started it all. (We don't actually use or need any of those things, we do this race Fat-Ass! "No Medal, No Shirt, No Support, maybe water")
Here is the skinny: Two years ago there was a group of us doing a clinic at a local Running Store...Go P-Town! We were training for the Las Vegas Marathon and Half Marathon which was then held at the end of January. The bulk of the participants were not going to fly south to do the actual race so the instructors came up with the idea to stage our own race here in Pickering. We picked a weekend in January to do it. That day turned out to be the coldest day of winter as well as a huge snowstorm. Participants and volunteers (amazing volunteers!) were so bundled up that you couldn't recognize them or even pry them from their cars. The water froze in the cups on the route, peoples mittens froze solid, and it just started to snow as the last runner came across the finish line. Close to 30 people ran that day and now the legend continues. Come join us for an experience you will not soon forget.
The marked course (if I can still find the signs) starts at the intersection of Dixie Rd. and Finch Ave., it then travels north then west along Concession #3 to the town line, north on TL, west on Taunton/Steeles Ave, south on Beare Rd to West on Plug Hat Rd. to the bottom of the hill, then back east on PH, south on Beare Rd. to East on Finch, turn north on Town Line (up Crapper Hill) to east on Con #3 and home to the Start/Finish Line. A very enjoyable 21.1 km of uninterrupted country road.
Total cost of the event: TBA

Perhaps we'll see the spirit of Jeff somewhere on the course.
This was his favourite race!
