Friday night at the docks saw some new Personal Best times and some new rivalries made. The race turned out to be a warm run with over 1100 people running it. The flat, out and back course is a perfect setting for an evening of running. After the race the real fun started as most of us descended on the patio and enjoyed an evening of lounging.
Saturday morning a small group of us met at the Rouge for our regular weekly run. We added a little variety to the run (and got some grass scars to prove it). After finding another river crossing and piles of poison ivy, we had to run down the river once again. To me the run felt like it was about 25km long and that my legs were like jelly dipped in concrete. Over all: Good times
Sunday's Run was Cassandra's race for arthritis. It was a kid's race, a 10km run, a 5km run, as well as 5 & 10 km walks. The weather was hot, but nice and people had a good time. With only a few problems, the race went as planned and the money raised went to a great cause! We have to keep in mind the end result and the benefits of the fund raising involved. Thank you Cassandra and Greg for all your hard work and determination.
This week:
Tuesday night, we are at the track again this week for the continuing saga of "track workouts with Ken". We will continue with the same workout that we had last week with only a few alterations. Remember to get there on time to get the full benefit of the warmup session-It is what is good for your body. Most people who run, complain that they don't do enough warm up and usually feel crappy for the first km of the run. Well who's fault is that anyway?

Thursday night is the regular run at the Rouge Valley at 7 pm. No reason to hold back this week, as there are no races coming up soon. So come out and expect at least the Guantlet or Eiger to be included. If you don't know what I mean, come out and I will show you.
More updates later in the week.
