Tuesday night Report

Okay so that is the end of week 3 of your summer of becoming a stronger runner. While you should be getting used to the exercises, your body is still fighting to keep up with the abuse. So pains/soreness in those small muscles that are in places where you didn't know you had muscles are okay. But if you are getting nagging aches that just won't go away, you should take a couple of days and just do easy stuff like walking or mowing the grass. There is no need to push it.

Lots of Rest, Stretching, lots of water to lubricate those muscles back to health, and a little bit of vitamin I (ibuprofen) to take down the swelling.

I am really impressed how most everyone has taken to this style of workout. If you haven't noticed, I like to have a more laid back attitude and allow people to work at generally their own pace. If you are having problems keeping up or feel that you are getting lost in the shuffle, my two main tips of advice are: 1. Get there early and prepared to work out. 2. Since we are 3 weeks in, you can see who else is basically at the same pace as you, so partner up and use each other as a pacer and sounding board for the workout exercises.

I have been asked the following questions: "How much longer will we be doing this same workout? Will I be changing the program up? Will we be working on Running stuff? Do I take bribes to make the workout easier? The answers are all Yes! We will be doing the same basic workout for at least a couple of more weeks. In week 6 we may move into doing some hill work (not that pansy valley farm hill stuff), I will be assigning more homework to round out your core training (start looking for deals on a stability ball, we might have a ball night at the track!?%), and we will most likely be increasing the distance/difficulty of the trail run (so if you haven't made it to the top of the sand hill, I suggest practice) I am also open to suggestions and criticisms about the program, so let me know what you think.

Isn't the skipping rope getting easier?
