Well we once again braved the wilds of The Glen Rouge Valley. A group of eight of us ventured out to find the flattest, most forgiving route possible thru the valley. After finding nothing but downhill after downhill, the group left it up to me, the route committee-elect, to find at least one hill for us to ascend.
The conditions today turned out to be some of the nicest that we have had. While you could see that there was ice below the surface, the snow on top was quite favourable for traction and made for quite easy running. The only section that we had to totally avoid was the downhill section that comes out at the parking lot by Twynn rivers. The whole "trench" was a glacier and looked to be very treacherous. So, led by "bushwhacking"-Jen, a group of us went straight down thru the forest on the hillside. Thanks for that!
Overall with some extra turns and burns we did almost 12km in under an hour and a half. Remember that the worst part of winter is now over and it should be warm from here on in.
If you are reading this and thinking: "who are these people and are they nuts?". Why not come out and run with us sometime? We meet almost every week at the same time, at the same place. So just check us out! Don't worry, most of us don't bite!
Cheers.
Here is the map and elevation chart for today's run. Like I have said, it was relatively flat. Relative to what though?

The only thing that could have been better was to add a river crossing.......hmmmmm maybe it would have revived my non-responsive legs.
A river crossing definitely would of added entertainment to our adventure...maybe next week! Jen's amazing cookies certainly stimulated my tired legs after the run...
