Last Weekend's Runs

The Full Report

For those of you who had thought about joining us last Saturday morning for our run in Rouge Valley, you probably missed one of the best times we have ever had. There were a lot of puddles as well as a great helping of mud patches, but overall the footing was consistant and the run went steadily along. While some ventured north to do the Plug Hat loop of the trail, others of us took the new trail that I have named "The Gauntlet". It is a winding, diving, climbing piece of trail that really tests the tread on our shoes. Congrats to all that survived it.

Sunday's runs were a bit of a different story. While some people stayed cozied up in their beds or huddled in coffee shops, groups of us ventured out to brave the biting wind and snow that was coming off the lake. The part that I most enjoyed was the run along the west shore spit where we were forced to lean into the wind in order to remain upright. The swells on the lake were something to witness as well. The triple loop on the roads of West shore turned out to be just the Rx for the weather that we had. It seemed that every time we had had enough of the wind or snow, we would turn a corner and be out of it. Nice route Tony!
Thanks for the running!

I Think this is where Greg went under.
