We came, We saw, We conquered (while wearing red dresses)
What a blast!
Okay all you non-believers and philistines, where were you hiding this past Saturday that you couldn't make it out for this memorable event? For the five of us Riff raff who did make it out to join those hard core Ultra runners, we had the best time. While the prospect of running down Westney in a long clingy dress did scare me a bit, I swallowed my inhibitions, strapped on my 2100s and pulled that tight Le Chateau number over my head. The five of us newbies only did the first half of the run but we were still made very welcome in doing so and the brunch after was quite good.
What was the run like? If you thought that I liked to make the group run up hills? These guys made us take a detour so that we could go all the way to the bottom of Puke hill and then run up the entire length. We also hit the Pickering museum hill in Greenwood with some gusto. We had a good little run along hwy 7 and then meandered back down Greenwood rd. Really nice 10km run with the rest of the mudpuppies going back out for another 10 after dropping the Riffraff off.
I am definitely looking forward to linking up with these guys come May. I think that joining them all for this event was a good fit. They were all quite welcoming and it just goes to show that it is quite hard to find runners who are jerks.
I only have a few pictures, click on the link above to see the group shot and read Diane's recap of the run. If you have more pictures, please send them to me and I will post them either here or at RiffRaffPics.

DYKHIKYG? You don't wipe off the glitter eyeshadow when going out to the bar that night!
