Mad Dog Scramble 2007 Update

Just a little less than two weeks to this year's Mad Dog Scramble. Yes this is the most fun anyone can have on an urban trail run. And yes it is a challenge. What with the hills, descents, creek crossings, barking dogs (two-legged that is).

To help, here are some tips from the Race Director.

1, Bring old shoes to race in. The course is not a place to break in new shoes. Actually, once you're done, you may want to throw out the shoes you just raced in. Of course, bring something to wear home.

2, If it is a cool morning, bring gloves. Your hands may get a little cool and it's nice keeping your hands warm.

3. The race will be run in waves. The fastest dogs start last. But itis the 1st, 2nd and 4th people across the line who are the prize winners. So it doesn't matter where you start. Anyone can win. Pastwinners have come from various waves.

Keep tuned to the next newsletter to determine how you might want to plan your strategy.

Come out and have fun.

Remember, there is a Puppy Scramble for children up to eight years old. (It will be very short but should be a lot of fun for the kids.)
