Eduardo's route for Sunday: the precis

Thinking of a long run for Sunday! We have 2 options:

  1. Plan a long route now

  2. Get Greg to set a 10K loop and get lost and do 30K or more
If we do a planned route, we can perhaps do the North 30K that we ran recently. So for those who need to print out the route here goes. (Greg this means you!). There is a link to the route with distance markers.
  • Meet at the Second Cup at 07:30 on Sunday. We might even see the Easter Bunny on route! If not we can always go to Hooters for a glimpse.

  • Go East to along Highway 2 to Church street. (That is left if you have your back to the Second Cup)

  • North on Church street. (Left at the Church Street/ Highway 2 intersection)

  • Go North all the way up Church street. Past Miriam's house (5K) and through the Taunton Road/Church Street intersection. (Flashing light at the intersection)

  • Across the railway line and along the gravel road to the T-junction (5th Concession at about 9K)

  • West (turn left at junction so that your back is towards Puke Hill) and follow for the next 8.8K. (Cross the Brock road intersection. It runs North/South and we are running West.

  • Greg keep the lake to your left and you will be going in the right direction!)

  • Run through the village of Whitevale and across the bridge just past the Ice Cream Caravan on your left. Bring money and we can take a break at that point. We will be 16K into the run at this point

  • Up the hill and to the Townline intersection. (For those who don't want to run too far, there is a turn off at 26th Sideline or Altona that will take you down to Taunton road)

  • At the intersection turn South (Left! Towards the lake!) and follow it down to and across the Taunton Road intersection and down to 3rd Concession 21.5K

  • Turn East on 3rd Concession (Left! Lake on your right side) and follow all the way along to Dixie Road 26K

  • Down Dixie to either Glenanna and back to the Second Cup or turn at Maple Gate Road at the 3-way stop sign. (You can only turn right or you'll be doing a trail run!). Maple Gate Road does a right turn after 300m.

  • Turn East (Left) at Maple Ridge Drive and East (Left) at Bushmill Street and across Liverpool Road intersection to Redwood Lane

  • Turn South (Right) and then East (Left) at Parkdale to Rosefield Road

  • Cross Finch Avenue (it runs left to right) down to Fieldlight Blvd and turn East (Left)

  • Run South (Right) on Valley Farm Drive for 30 metres and you've done 30K or run a few more and do 30.3K

  • At the Second Cup slap everyone on the back for a great run and then buy Edgar a huge frothy drink to celebrate Passover and Easter.
