Saturdays Rock, why do Sundays Suck?

For those of you that ran both days you know what I am talking about. How is it that we can go from warm, sunny, and perfect conditions on Saturday to the crappy, rainy and windy conditions that we experiencned today (Sunday).

Let's focus on the good and not dwell too much on the bad...

Saturday's trail run thru the Rouge Valley was yet another epic run which I wish didn't have to end. The sun was out, there was little or no wind, and the company was very agreeable. With a big group of 12 peeps out this week, we had plenty of choice to run and chat with. If only Greg and John would stop taking us up every hill in the valley so that we could get some breath to do some talking. It seemed that everyone had a great run even though the muddy trail was frozen solid for the most part, making it a little weary on the ankles and stabilizer muscles. Just think of it as a massage for your connective tissue.

After taking a few new turns and following some old favourite trails, a few brave souls were determined to make a river crossing at the Twynn Rivers parking lot. It seemed like the General wanted to go for a swim, but ended up turning back. I guess he wanted to keep the others company as they ran around and over the bridge. There is always next time.

Sunday's run was a different matter. This morning it was pouring rain when I woke up thinking "Do I have to run today?" The rain let up for the most part, turning into a drizzly cold kindof thick fog. Rob wore shorts this morning, insisting that by the end of the run it would be sunny and 16C. It didn't turn out to be that nice but it did feel great to be done the run. I think the real reason that he wore the shorts was to show off the great "TRAIL RASH" scar that he got yesterday. Again, there is always next time.

Stay tuned for a report on the conditions at Seaton. I am going to try that trail out this week. It's been a while since we all have run from there.

No more snow this year.
