Saturday's run was a blast!

Why weren't you there for the run this morning?

Today's run was something to talk about. -1C and a light snowfall makes for the perfect backdrop for a run in the woods. The footing was quite muddy today but at least it was somewhat consistently muddy. We were still able to keep up a steady effort if not a steady pace.

There was a point on the way back where Edgar spotted some deer taking off into the woods. It was here that I had to stop, take a breath and look at the view around me. The air was still, the ground was covered in a light dusting of snow and the flakes were falling gently as to fill the air with white soft snow. It would have made a great picture and it will always be in the back of my mind. Seeing the deer reminded me that sometimes our lives go by so quickly that we don't stop and take in our surroundings. We tend to run our lives like we run the trails: keeping pace, looking for traction and trying to keep up with others.

Thank you everyone for the great run this morning. Those who didn't come today really missed out on both a great run and a great morning.
